Right, I got that, as I said. I don't understand why you're saying the same thing repeatedly. I have HDMI cables coming out my ears; having one more isn't exciting. Clearly buying a CEC-disabled cable is a solution, which I knew before my original post. I said a few posts ago that I shouldn't have to spend money to disable a function in the 9865HDC that isn't doing anything useful, IF it's possible for it to be disabled via software. That was my original point; none of your posts have been responsive to that.
So to be blunt, you're not adding value, just dogmatically insisting on a known and undesirable solution. Unless you have a dog in this hunt, it's not clear why you're being an apologist for Cisco; if you do, it would behoove you both to admit it and to accept the logic in my thesis, or to refute it.
One last time: Unless there's some value to CEC for the 9865HDC, it isn't useful and is just causing a problem. And if it's possible for it to be disabled via software, that would be a desirable change. Even if it IS providing some value in some use cases, then, again, if it's possible for it to be disabled via software, that would be a useful option in the settings.
Simple enough?
