We've had Contour for about a month, and it has its good points and its bad points. The new remote is terrible; we have a few of the old ones as well, and tend to use them as much as possible, because they're much more intuitive.
I echo all of the "The old DVR did it THIS way" complaints. Of course there are things that are better with Contour, but people aren't going to note those here. To those who are defending Contour: the complaints aren't an indictment; if folks hated Contour, they'd switch back. What you're seeing is people saying "This has goodness, but it could be SOOO much better if only..." -- and that's what product folks should be looking for. That's how you make a world-class product,.
Our current complaint is that we have the NBC Nightly News set to record, and it keeps missing it. We have another program recording at the same time (yes, only one more) and that does record, so it isn't like the cable just decides to drop out at that hour every night. Even weirder, the shows DID appear in the "upcoming recordings" list -- I've been watching that since we first missed a recording -- but then things just don't record.
Before someone says "Reboot the box", it's been rebooting itself every couple of days anyway. It's not in an enclosure, isn't near other equipment, so I don't think it's overheating.
Anyone else seeing these two behaviors?
