RE: Cable channels not available in box in bedroom...

Thanks, here an example of the channels I get in living room, and only marked those in bedroom; just a sample:

HBO 1200 - 1208 - in living room, Cable card box

HBO 1200 - 1201 - in bedroom, Sci Atlanta box

The Sci Atlanta box is Explorer 4240 HDC. It's a digital box with HD, since I got that from Cox when wife got an HDTV for the bedroom. I think somebody at Cox should have told me I'd need a better box to get all my channels.

The living room box is CISCO STA 1520...

I don't want to lease another expensive box for bedroom just to get these channels; that's a ripoff since I don't want or need any DVR (Contour) in the bedroom; I use TiVo in living room as my DVR. I'd only want the chttannels, not a Contour DVR package.

Can I lease a Contour box without a DVR attached, and what's the monthly rental/lease fee? How much will I pay more for that box or service than I pay now for my Sci Atlanta box?

Thanks,
DrWeb

Indeed, HBO channels 1203-1208 are normally 1GHz/H.264 channels. The 4240HDC will not receive these channels. The 4640HDC, 4650HDC, 4642HDC, 4652HDC, and 4742HDC will receive these channels. I don't know which of these receivers your local Cox carries, or what if any additional charge may apply.

BTW, these channels were all part of the old "Plus Pak", and really weren't part of your paid subscription. Long story.
